A publication for the slower, more considered conversation about food and self.

Much of the writing about food and weight tends toward urgency — the quick shift, the fast resolution, the dramatic reversal. Frandelo Press takes a different position. Its editorial attention rests on the quieter territory: the gradual habit building that happens when no one is watching, the self-regulation and eating patterns that persist across seasons, the intrinsic motivation and food relationships that form over years rather than weeks.

Articles here are longer, more considered, and rooted in published nutritional and behavioural research. There is no urgency here — only the slow accumulation of understanding.

About the Publication
Long-Form Reading

Each piece is written to be read without interruption — 8 to 12 minutes of considered, evidence-informed prose on cognitive eating patterns and positive food relationship.

Behavioural Framing

Every article is framed through behavioural change approach and self-compassion and weight perspectives, drawing on published research in cognitive psychology and nutritional science.

Two Editors, One Voice

Eleanor Whitfield and Tobias Ashcroft write all primary content. A guest writer contributes once each quarter. All pieces are reviewed before publication.

Psychological Patterns

Psychological patterns and weight — how deeply held beliefs about self shape food behaviour over time.

Consistency Over Restriction

Why consistency over restriction is a more durable foundation for long-term weight management than any single intervention.

Body Image and Weight

Body image and weight explored through a lens of self-compassion rather than correction — the quieter, more durable path.

Positive Food Relationship

Building a positive food relationship through gradual habit building and an understanding of food decision patterns.

"The body does not respond to effort alone — it responds to the accumulated weight of small, repeated decisions made in ordinary moments."

A small publication built on careful observation.

Frandelo Press was founded by Eleanor Whitfield and Tobias Ashcroft with a single purpose: to create a body of long-form writing about the relationship between mind, motivation, and food that did not rely on urgency or directive.

Both write from backgrounds in nutritional science and behavioural psychology. They are based in London. The publication issues approximately four articles per quarter.

Disclosure & Correction

Commercial relationships are disclosed inline. Post-publication corrections are noted publicly at the foot of the amended article with the date of revision.

All primary content is written by Eleanor Whitfield and Tobias Ashcroft, the publication's two founding editors. A third writer contributes as a quarterly guest. Contributor bios appear at the foot of each article. No content is generated automatically — every piece reflects the considered position of its named author.

The publication focuses on weight stability mindset, cognitive eating patterns, behavioural change approach, self-compassion and weight, and the role of environmental food cues in everyday eating decisions. Articles are long-form and grounded in published research, written for readers who prefer depth over brevity.

Frandelo Press publishes at a deliberate pace: approximately three to four articles per quarter. This reflects the editorial position that depth of observation takes precedence over frequency. Readers are encouraged to take time with each piece rather than scan for takeaways.
